“Peacock chair” Hans J. Wegner
The JH550 or “Peacock chair” as it was named by danish designer Finn Juhl when he saw it the first time is one of Hans J. Wegners most characteristic chairs. It was designed and put in production already in 1947. A modern and original take on the classic English windsor chair! Executed by Master cabinet maker Johannes Hansen in Copenhagen. The chair is made out of solid ash wood, with contrasting teak armrests. A hand woven paper chord seat with an icelandic sheepskin as complement. The chair is in very good condition with light patina. This example is from somewhere in the 1950s. Signed.
